U.S. scientist Frances Arnold, who won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2018, was revealed to have had flaws in the latest study and couldn't reproduce the experimental results in the paper, which she announced on January 2 and publicly apologized for.

Ms Arnold won the 2018 Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2018 after sharing research on enzymes with US scientist George P. Smith and British scientist Gregory Winter, the BBC reported. Subsequent related papers were published in the journal Science in May 2019.

However, the paper points out that the results of the experiment cannot be reproduced. According to the journal Science,\" a close examination of the first author's experimental notes reveals a lack of simultaneous entries and raw material for key experiments \". Copying results is an important part of validating scientific experiments, and if an experiment is successful, each experiment deserves the same results, so the study has been withdrawn.

On january 2nd ms. arnold personally tweeted the message, admitting the mistake and withdrawing the paper, saying:\" while it's painful to admit, it's important to do so, and I apologize. I didn't do my job by rushing over the paper.\"

The BBC noted that Arnold's statement reflected the \"reproducing crisis \"of scientific research. In october 2018, the journal nature warned that a growing number of studies were unable to replicate the same results. An earlier study by the journal found that more than two-thirds of researchers had failed to recreate experiments by different scientists. (Hong Kong)
